Today’s Romanian offering: a bit less ethnic

Unless you count Mariah Carey rip-offs as ‘a bit ethnic’, of course. Elena is a glamorous Balkan woman without a surname, and so you would expect her to sing the most awful the most gloriously trashy pop-folk imagineable. Unfortunately, she doesn’t.

I can’t find out anything more about her (lack of surname and lack of Romanian Wikipedia article, unless she was born in 1946), but I do wonder if she ever stops smiling.

According to the visual with the song title, she’s Elena Gheorghe, which means that http://elenagheorghe.ro/ probably belongs to her.

So, she hasn’t just been on there, but one of their charisma-fests from Belgrade was.

Again, the Wikipedia page is a one-liner. Thanks to all this, I don’t even know of any Romanian Idol-type shows. That’s very strange, the more I think about it.
